Comments:
Carapezza includes only the part of the melody on 82v in the melody facsimiles in his study of the manuscript. (Carapezza 639) The last four phrases of the melody (6-9) are barely visible, as are the notes given for the first verse of stanza 2. Phrases 6 and 8 are paired, as are 7 and 9, which helps to a limited extent in deciphering the notes (neither is identical to its pair). Van der Werf's transcription of this passage closely agrees with that of Sesini except for fifth neume group of phrases 6 and 8, which Sesini gives as a single note and a binaria, respectively, instead of a quinternaria. They also differ on the final notes of phrases 8 and 9 slightly. Update: July 2017: UV is currently being used on the manuscript and the melody transcription will be updated to reflect that information soon.
